This is the mistake I see every day as a startup coach

and I see exactly the same with people entering Sales, management and leadership

The mistake?

Passionate people pushing products
Passionate people pushing technologies

Passionate people pushing their own agenda

Guess what,

Nobody cares about you or your product

Even if your product can save the planet or change the world

It doesn’t matter.

We see it every day at StartLife

Brilliant technologies,
New products changing the world,

But in the end, technologies and products that don’t take off

Entrepreneurs are problem-solvers, NOT inventors

The reality is:

You only become a successful entrepreneur when you serve someone
You only become a successful entrepreneur when you solve a problem to someone

Be of service is the secret

It works the same with Leadership…

You don’t become a leader because you want to be a leader
You don’t become a leader because you want to be famous

You don’t become a leader because you want followers

You become a leader because you are of service
Because you want to help others

…and Sales

You don’t become good at sales because you have the perfect pitch
You don’t become good at sales because you have great products
You don’t become good at sales because you have charisma

You become good at sales because you know your customers
You become good at sales because you know their problems

Again:
It’s NEVER about you!

Whether you want to build a business, to build your influence, or sell more

It’s about who you want to serve
It’s about the person in front of you

Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Sales are about value creation
Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Sales are about people

Start there, and forget the rest
